We were certainly surprised this morning when we heard a knock on our door during rotations. 1 B just knew it had to be a Mystery Reader, but who could it be!
After asking three really good questions:
1. Are you a boy or a girl?
2. Do you have hair or are you bald?
3. What color hair do you have?

The class was certain they knew who it was! Boy were they surprised when Wynn's grandfather walked through our door! Wynn was definitely the most surprised as he had to take a double look before running and jumping into his grandfather's arms!
We had so much fun listening to some very strange facts about people and animals and we hope Wynn's grandfather comes back to visit again!

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!
We had a fun week celebrating Gavin's half Birthday and Jia Jia's Birthday. We enjoyed yummy treats and had a lot of fun listening to books and trying tongue twisters with Mr. Schottenstein!
Thank you moms and dads for coming into our classroom to help us celebrate.

Gingerbread Cookie Decorating

We were so lucky to have Mrs. DeAscentis make gingerbread cookies for us and bring in different candies for us to use to decorate those cookies. We had so much fun.
Take a look at the yummy cookies we decorated!

THANK YOU MRS. DEASCENTIS
Love,

This morning we went outside with our 3rd grade buddies to find and decorate our class Night Tree. We found a great pine tree down by the tennis courts and had fun adding our food ornaments and singing Old MacDonald Had a Farm!
Here are a few pictures of us decorating and them of us back inside warming up with hot chocolate and eating doughnuts!

Today our first graders participated in the Columbus Academy First Grade Tradition of Night Tree rotations. Each class rotated around to each first grade classroom to make food ornaments. On Monday we will head outside and find our own class night tree to decorate and hope for the winter animals to come and enjoy. Look for these pictures next week!
