On Friday our class was very lucky to have a surprise visit from Cydney's dad, Mr. Platt.
1B has been participating in a research project for Black History Month. Each child chose a famous African American to research and then write a report about what they learned. Cydney happened to choose Jackie Robinson, someone who she knew her dad admired for his actions in helping to create equal rights for all Americans.
1B was very fortunate to have Mr. Platt join us and share his knowledge on Jackie and the impact he had, not only in baseball, but in this country!
Thanks you Mr. Platt for sharing with us!
